Great Power Unveils Sky Battery

On December 11, Great Power held an all-scenario battery launch event, focusing on new battery products for the three major transport scenarios: air, land, and sea.

Sky High-Power Battery

For low-altitude aircraft battery solutions, Great Power focuses on three core performance metrics: safety, energy density, and power. The Sky High-Power Battery was introduced to meet these needs.

In terms of safety, Great Power has developed its own heat-induced free radical quenching technology, which ensures each Sky battery contains trillions of free radical quenching sites, claimed to rapidly release fire-retardant core material when the battery is heated, thus ensuring intrinsic safety at the fundamental level.

Additionally, the Sky battery can reduce the occurrence of metal foreign object faults to PPB level. With 10,000 cells, the voltage difference at the end of discharge is below 100mV, offering higher consistency.

In terms of density, the Sky battery has a mass energy density exceeding 400Wh/kg, which is 60% lighter than traditional ternary batteries. At the same time, the volume energy density reaches 750Wh/L, which is 68% smaller than traditional ternary batteries. The Sky battery can provide 3 kg of electrical energy and increase flight time by 35% in terms of range.

Regarding power, the Sky battery is designed to meet the high-power demands of aircraft during takeoff, climbing, stable cruising, and safe landing. The specific performance details are as follows:

  • During the takeoff and climb phase, the Sky battery can achieve an instantaneous discharge power of 15P;
  • During stable cruising, the battery can provide a continuous discharge power of 6P, supporting aircraft in tasks like constant speed cruising, emergency stopping, and sharp turns;
  • At 30% state of charge (SOC), the Sky battery can maintain a continuous discharge power of 10P to ensure safe landing.

Electric Ships × Electric Heavy Trucks: Lightweight Heavy Logistics Battery Swapping Solution

Heavy logistics generally carry loads over 4,000 kg. Based on a lightweight design concept, Great Power has launched a battery swapping solution for heavy logistics, applicable to ships and heavy trucks.

Using its self-developed LSE stacked frameless integration technology, compared to the H-box, for the same 400 kWh solution, the weight is reduced by 230 kg, and the height is reduced by 600 mm, improving space utilization by 25%. The energy density of Great Power's heavy logistics battery swapping solution has increased by 12%, reaching over 144Wh/kg.

Two-Wheeler Battery Swapping Solution

Great Power's two-wheeler battery swapping solution has formed a variety of product types, covering material systems like lithium iron phosphate, lithium manganese oxide, and ternary batteries, with appearances including square, soft pack, small cylindrical, and large cylindrical designs.

Since entering the two-wheeler market in 2019, Great Power has announced the installation of over 2 million sets of batteries. Based on the performance demands of the frontline market, Great Power focuses on safety and durability in iterative product development:

  • Safety: Compliant with new national safety standards, able to pass stringent tests like puncture tests.
  • The cell energy density can reach 200Wh/kg, and the system energy density can reach 145Wh/kg.
  • Durability: Ensuring high-frequency use for over 5 years.

Forklift Battery Swapping Solution

Great Power announced that its forklift batteries have been applied to over 70,000 forklifts. In 2024, the company will innovate forklift battery solutions based on three core features: safety, fast charging, and low energy consumption.

In terms of safety, the new batteries use lithium iron phosphate technology and connect to the forklift data system via their self-developed intelligent BMS system to monitor the entire lifecycle of the battery.

For fast charging, the battery can be fully charged in 1.5 hours. Meanwhile, compared to fuel-powered forklifts, Great Power reduces energy consumption by over 80% and offers a 6-year or 10,000-hour warranty service to customers.
