REPT Energy Showcases at Paris Motor Show: Global Debut of LMFP Wending Cells Driving Zero-carbon Transportation
On October 14, 2024, local time, the 90th Paris Motor Show grandly opened at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France. At this year's show, REPT Energy presented a green power battery solution that combines performance and environmental sustainability—Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) cell technology, the GREEN CTP battery pack, and the GREEN BANK plug-in hybrid-specific battery pack. These offerings highlight REPT Energy's full-chain technical innovation capabilities and diverse product lineup, from cell chemistry systems to system integration.
During the Paris Motor Show, REPT Energy's European subsidiary celebrated its first anniversary. REPT Energy, in collaboration with global partners, hosted a New Energy Ecosystem Forum and a Brand Night event to discuss a zero-carbon future.
Green Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) Cells: Innovation in Chemistry to Drive Net-zero Action
Considering energy density, cost-effectiveness, and safety, REPT Energy introduced a new power battery technology solution—Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) battery technology—at this year's Paris Motor Show, partnering with global customers to support carbon neutrality.
Compared to LFP and NCM batteries, the LMFP battery launched by REPT Energy combines the advantages of both. With the addition of REPT Energy's proprietary Wending technology, the LMFP battery further enhances energy density, cycle life, low-temperature performance, fast-charging capability, and safety features.
Energy Density Upgrade, Extended Range: With the support of Wending technology, the electrode tab redundancy in the cells is eliminated, improving internal space utilization by 3-5%. Enhancements in the microscopic solid-liquid interface increase lithium-ion transmission rates by 30%. The cell's volumetric energy density reaches 430-520 Wh/L, enabling pure electric passenger cars to achieve a range of over 700 km.
Outstanding Thermal Management, Enhanced Safety: The upgraded materials and electrochemical system reduce cell impedance by 16%, minimizing excess heat generation. The cells can pass nail penetration tests without thermal runaway.
Stable Ion Transmission, Excellent Low-temperature Performance: The advanced dual high-electrode design, along with improvements in the microscopic solid-liquid interface, increases lithium-ion transmission rates between and within electrodes by 30%, ensuring that the discharge capacity retention rate remains above 80% at -30°C.
Fast Charging in Less than 18 Minutes: With an LMFP voltage platform close to that of ternary batteries, charging efficiency is improved, enabling fast charging from 10% to 80% SOC in under 18 minutes.
Green Pack: Structural Innovation for Eco-friendly, Low-carbon Efficiency
In the automotive industry, energy efficiency and environmental protection mean not only improving energy efficiency during battery use and reducing energy consumption, but also minimizing environmental impact throughout the entire battery lifecycle.
To address these needs, REPT Energy has proposed a full lifecycle green solution suitable for various vehicle types—GREEN CTP battery pack and GREEN BANK plug-in hybrid-specific battery pack. These solutions meet the needs of electric and hybrid vehicles from production, usage, and maintenance to secondary use, ensuring low-carbon and eco-friendly practices throughout the battery's lifecycle.
REPT Energy has further iterated its GREEN CTP battery pack technology by addressing common issues with traditional CTP packs, such as difficult maintenance, high costs, and limited environmental ratings. The GREEN CTP battery pack features mechanically fixed cells instead of adhesive, allowing for individual cell replacement, which simplifies maintenance and reduces costs. Additionally, both the cells and the entire pack can be repurposed, enhancing sustainability.
Empowered by Wending technology, the GREEN CTP battery pack exhibits excellent performance tailored to various vehicle needs. For instance, the 67.6 kWh GREEN CTP pack achieves an energy density of 145 Wh/kg under LFP chemistry, providing a range of over 500 km and enabling a 10%-80% charge in just 16 minutes. It also performs well in extreme temperatures, functioning between -30°C and 60°C.
Moreover, in response to the growing PHEV market, REPT Energy introduced the GREEN BANK series, specifically designed for hybrid vehicles. These battery packs range from 10-55 kWh, meeting diverse range requirements, and can achieve over 35% fuel savings compared to traditional vehicles. They also excel in low-temperature performance, enabling ultra-low temperature cold starts at -30°C.
New Energy Ecosystem Forum and Brand Night: Collaborating for a Zero-carbon Future
On the first day of the Paris Motor Show, REPT Energy hosted a New Energy Ecosystem Forum and Brand Night, inviting industry leaders and experts to discuss how green energy technologies can support global net-zero emissions and carbon neutrality goals.
